Putting the Department of Landscape Architecture, UMK on the national map by empowering the industrial collaborative relationship University¿Industry Collaboration (UIC) has been identified as an essential item on Malaysia¿s agenda for transforming the higher education into knowledge and innovation-based economy. In line with this notion, the Department of Landscape Architecture, UMK has been given an honorable opportunity to play a significant role as the Landscape Architect's Consultant through partnership with Morphosis Design Sdn. Bhd to deliver the national mega project of 'Cadangan Pembangunan Rekabentuk Landskap Perbandaran, Kota Bharu, Kelantan' for Jabatan Landskap Negara (JLN). This 3 year project will strengthen and thus transform the urban landscape of Kota Bharu, Kelantan into a new image through re-branding the urban identity while preserving the local culture and heritage identity of Kelantan. With an interdisciplinary knowledge brought by the different expertise in the Department of Landscape Architecture, such collaboration will inject the cutting edge of knowledge and technology central to university research that in turn brings the societal impact to the residents. On the other hand, complement to the collaborative measures, this project paved a way for industry player for capital investment. Kudos to all the SGL lecturers and 14 students who have voluntering to take part to conduct the Social Survey. We are the united SGL FAMILY. Assemble!
